Client Relations Associate

Job Summary:

The Client Relations Associate position is responsible for managing high quality relationships with current clients, along with developing new client relationships by prospecting. The Client Relations Associate position also includes broad business and finance-related tasks on a regular basis that are necessary to assist in the general management of a financial planning office.


Principal Responsibilities:

  • Greet, interact with and answer calls as a first contact for current and prospective clients with inquiries about their financial plan or potentially becoming a client.

  • Prepare and support new and ongoing marketing and prospecting efforts for the company.

  • Take detailed notes about every interaction with clients, prospects and outside firms.

  • Present and coordinate educational and other events on an on-going basis, including marketing, attendance and anything else necessary.

  • Undertake any necessary research for an expertise in personal financial planning.

  • Maintains daily processes to meet client and firm responsibilities.

  • Prepare policies to ensure a productive workflow while identifying potential improvements.

  • Maintains technical knowledge by reading financial journals, attending workshops and related classes.

  • Help generate enthusiasm and awareness about Callahan Financial Planning in the community by being a member of local organizations.

  • Maintain all necessary office and client records.

  • Prepare data, analysis and reports for clients and Financial Planners.

  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude in all activities and interactions.

  • Ensure company legal compliance by being aware of laws affecting our industry and assisting in the creation and monitoring of internal controls.

  • Assist in the regular maintenance, appearance and cleaning of the office with co-workers.

  • Assist and support other financial planning staff members as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.


Qualifications:

  • Strong desire to interact with people regularly and frequently.

  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

  • Must currently hold or plan to test for required Series 65 or 66 licenses.

  • Strong planning and organizational skills and a strong attention to detail.

  • Software proficiency in various Office, Windows and Mac applications.

  • Ability to understand sophisticated financial concepts & issues with strong problem-solving skills.


Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher (Current college students may apply with related work experience).

  • Educational and/or employment background should be in economics, finance, banking or related areas. Additional marketing or prospecting experience helpful.

  • 2 years + experience in interacting with clients in a high-quality service environment.
